Don't overfelt!
Felting is an art, not a science. But the mistake we see most often is over-felting. It usually isn't necessary to felt until all the stitches disappear! If in doubt, check your pattern for finished dimensions.
Eucalan
Did you know? Dry cleaning strips essential oils from animal fibers, and Woolite is almost as harsh. Instead, we recommend Eucalan wool wash. It contains eucalyptus oil, a natural moth repellant, and lanolin, so it actually restores instead of stripping. It is also no-rinse!
Needles for tight knitters
If you are a tight knitter, try Addi Turbo needles. They are very smooth and your stitches will slide off.
Not all needles are equal
If you are changing brands of needles or crochet hooks, be advsied that not all are equal. Addi US #2 are 3.0 mm, Susan Bates US #2 are 2.75. You can use this if you can't get gauge on one brand.
Securing fringe
If your fringe yarn is very slippery, your knots will come loose. We've found Dritz Fray-Chek is a great way to secure these knots.
