Foxy Lady Hat

Advanced Beginner

This charming hat makes a lovely frame for a lovely face.

Notes: Gauge: 13 stitches = 4 inches Pattern stitch: Stockinette (Stst).

Materials:

  • 2 skeins Baby Brush Alpaca
  • 1 skein Foxy
  • size 9 24" circular needles
  • size 9 double pointed needles
  • 1 stitch marker

    • Directions

    1.

    With circular needles and Foxy cast on 60 stitches, place marker and join round. Be careful not to twist the stitches.

    2.

    Round 3: Drop the Foxy and begin knitting with 2 strands of Baby Brush Alpaca.

    3.

    Continue knitting in the round until hat measures 61/2".

    4.

    Purl the next two rounds. Knit 1 round.

    5.

    Begin decreases as follows changing to double pointed needles when needed: Round 1:(knit 8,K2tog)6 times. Round 2:(knit 7,K2tog)6 times. Round 3:(knit 6,k2tog)6 times. Round 4:(knit 5,k2tog)6 times. Round 5:(knit 4,k2tog)6 times. Round 6:(knit 3,k2tog)6 times. Round 7:(knit 2,k2tog)6 times. Round 8:(knit 1,k2tog)6 times. Round 9:(k2tog)6 times. Round 10:(k2tog)3 times. There should be 3 stitches left.

    6.

    Cut yarn leaving a 6" tail. Thread through remaining three stitches and pull tight. Weave in all ends.
